Job Description

The Lee lab at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC located in Roanoke aims to develop novel biomaterials that aid in modulating innate and adaptive immune responses for cancer immunotherapy. Our lab’s research interest focuses on drug/gene delivery, development of innate/adaptive immune agonists and immune cell engineering via chemical modification.
We are recruiting Research Assistant that will be responsible for performing in vitro experiments including cell cultures, and several assays, maintaining the mouse colony and genotyping, and assisting with lab-related administrative tasks such as ordering lab supplies and maintaining lab equipment.


Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated laboratory research experiences in cancer research.
- Demonstrated experience working with rodents.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organization skills, excellent communication skills.
- Ability to organize and analyze experimental data.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Desire to succeed in a fast-paced research environment with multiple duties.


Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's in chemistry, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or an appropriate related field.
