Research Assistant
Med-Orthopedic Surgery - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (20002100)
 

The Research Assistant performs recruitment of participants for research studies in pediatric orthopedic surgery research. The main tasks include: 


  • Participant recruitment (creating and posting recruitment materials) and obtaining informed consent 


  • Managing study participants (scheduling study visits, arranging payments / parking, etc).


   • Maintaining study records (informed consents, IRB approvals, etc)


  • Educating study participants on study interventions 


 • Entering research data and performing database maintenance 


 • Data processing (model tracking, image segmentation) After training, the research assistant is expected to perform these tasks with minimal supervision. Candidates require meticulous record keeping and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must be a team player. Exceptional candidates will have research experience in biological sciences.

 

Associates degree and prior experience with biomedical research or other large research/outreach studies. Careful attention to detail, excellent organizational and computer skills required. Incumbent must be a team player. Previous experience with database and statistical software preferred
