Job Summary:
The primary purpose for this position is to work directly with investigators and other research to assist the Early Life Phthalate Exposure (ELF) study team in the Gillings School of Public Health. This position will work on multiple aspects of the study. This includes (but is not limited to): environmental exposure-related research, kit assembly, medical record abstraction, REDCap database upkeep, pickup and delivery of biological samples, data QC, and other essential administration.As an integral member of the Center for Environmental Health & Susceptibility, the Research Assistant will perform a variety of duties in support of health research studies to insure we meet the demands of the research project. The study is researching the effects of phthalate exposure in relation to brain structure and function during early life. Specific duties will include but are not limited to:a. Material inventory & kit assemblyb. Participate in other recruitment activities including putting up flyers in the community/clinicc. Biological sample pickup & deliveryd. Medical record abstractione. Maintain confidential electronic and paper project files, conduct mail merges, and track payment processing; this includes the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and other computer applications following IRB protocols.f. Complete follow-up of participants (in the office, or other desired location), using web-based tools, by phone, by email and mailg. Process and manage specimens collected for the studyh. Ensure data quality & REDCap upkeepi. May perform other duties incidental to research activities as assigned  
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
