Job Summary:
The Sancar lab has recently developed an innovative technique called XR-seq to analyze nucleotide excision repair at the whole genome level. The Research Associate position will focus on using this technique to analyzing nucleotide excision repair in different model organisms including the roundworm Caenorhabditis elegans and fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. Better understanding of this important genome maintenance mechanism is of high biomedical relevance, especially in relation to chemotherapy and cancer biology.  
Minimum Qualifications:
Familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques, including cloning and transfection is also desirable.Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.
