Required Education and Experience:
- Appropriate bachelor’s or equivalent combination education and experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solve and learn quickly
- Be proactive and adaptable
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's in immunology, genetics, biomedical sciences, biology, or other related fields
- Experience in immunology and/or genetics laboratory
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Molecular biology, comparative immunology
- Tissue and cell culture
- PCR and gel electrophoresis
- ELISA
- Cell separation/isolation
- RNA isolation and handling
- Processing blood products (human and/or non-human)
- Molecular cloning
- Protein expression
- Animal handling (mice, cattle, etc)
- Sequence analysis and BLAST
- Geneious software
Responsibilities:
- Lab record keeping, compliance maintenance, supply stocking and ordering
- Experiments for extramurally funded research
- Molecular immunology, bioinformatics, comparative immunogenetics, serology, histology
- Teach others in the lab basic methods and protocols of the group
- Performs other duties as assigned
