Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate bachelor’s or equivalent combination education and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solve and learn quickly
  • Be proactive and adaptable

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's in immunology, genetics, biomedical sciences, biology, or other related fields
  • Experience in immunology and/or genetics laboratory

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Molecular biology, comparative immunology
  • Tissue and cell culture
  • PCR and gel electrophoresis
  • ELISA
  • Cell separation/isolation
  • RNA isolation and handling
  • Processing blood products (human and/or non-human)
  • Molecular cloning
  • Protein expression
  • Animal handling (mice, cattle, etc)
  • Sequence analysis and BLAST
  • Geneious software

Responsibilities:

  • Lab record keeping, compliance maintenance, supply stocking and ordering
  • Experiments for extramurally funded research
  • Molecular immunology, bioinformatics, comparative immunogenetics, serology, histology
  • Teach others in the lab basic methods and protocols of the group
  • Performs other duties as assigned
