Research Assistant (Temporary/PRN) - Ob/Gyn

Position Summary
The Zhao lab is seeking a Research Assistant to prepare, process, and analyze data for preliminary machine learning and deep learning data.
The Zhao Laboratory is seeking outstanding candidates interested in developing and applying statistical model, machine/deep learning methodology in clinical study and medical research to improve women’s health. The goal of the lab is to develop AI powered methods in medical research of OB/GYN field to provide improved diagnosis and risk prediction.
The successful applicant will utilize statistical models and machine/deep learning methods to process and analyze biomedical imaging data, including, but not limited to, pathology assay images, ultrasound images, and wearable device data of actigraphy measures. Applicants with a strong background in these areas and of various levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
This is a temporary position of up to 6 months.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducts research experiments and assays.
• Evaluates research results, reports findings and discusses project outcomes with staff involved.
• Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
• Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
• Coordinates research project with other institutions and investigators.
• Participates in developing hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.
• Performs literature research on specified topics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Works in laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Working experience of machine learning and deep learning project in computer vision field.
• Demonstrated ability to implement general laboratory procedures, conduct research and record findings, with a focus on pursuit of advanced education in field.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in laboratory operations or equivalent combination of education and experience equaling 6 years.
