Required Education:

  • Appropriate Bachelor's or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with the Bryan/College Station area and experience working with community organizations that serve children and families.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.

  • Experience conducting human subjects research with children and families.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with electroencephalography (EEG), the Laboratory Temperament Assessment Battery (Lab-TAB) and obtaining human saliva samples.

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting families for laboratory study - Responsible for contacting community agencies to schedule and organize community-based recruitment events. Plan and organize recruitment event activities, ordering supplies and scheduling undergraduate researchers as needed. Events will involve direct contact with community families as part of recruitment efforts and the scheduling of families for laboratory visits.

  • Conducting laboratory visits - Serve as an experimenter for laboratory visits with families, including the use of audiovisual and psychophysiological recording equipment. The position also includes being prepared to training experimenters for data collection in adherence with standardized laboratory paradigms.

  • Data cleaning and coding - Lead a team of coders for observational data collected during laboratory visits and will work as a master coder for laboratory coding paradigms.

  • Other Duties as assigned - Work with Dr. Brooker to solve problems that arise. The position also includes general office duties (e.g., responding to phone calls, updating laboratory calendar, updating study website, making copies, etc.).
