Research Assistant

Stanford University is seeking a Community Coordinator to join the Office of Child Health Equity to assist with ongoing child health community projects. Including: 1) Collaborating with community partners and coordinating coalitions,     2) Supporting the Health Equity Alliance and 3) Conducting research and qualitative analysis. The Office of Child Health Equity will train the Community Coordinator to complete all of the listed tasks and ensure they are prepared to fill their role.

The Community Coordinator will ideally have interest and experience working with underserved populations. The Community Coordinator must be able to communicate and interact effectively. This position requires a self-motivated, self-directed, highly productive individual who can function both as an independent contributor, leader and team player. The Community Coordinator will report directly to the Directors of the office.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Superb organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

·         Ability to work independently

·         Ability to travel to community sites and clinics in South Bay

Desired:

·         College degree in related field desired

·         1-2 years of experience in a health-related field

·         Knowledge and experience of community-engaged work

·         Experience working with children under the age of 5

·         Experience working in a clinical setting

·         College degree in related field (public health, biology, health sciences)

·         1-2 years of experience in a health related field

·         Knowledge and experience of research methods (data collection, analysis, etc.)

·         Experience working with children under the age of 5

·         Experience working in a clinical setting

·         Fluency in English

·         Ability to work independently

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelors degree, or relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

The Community Coordinator will report directly to the Directors of the Office of Child Health Equity and be an integral part of the core office team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

·         Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

·         Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.

·         Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, and operates foot and/or hand controls.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs. The pay range for this position working in the California Bay area is $ 23.56-$34.13 per hour.
