Job Summary

 

Conduct and manage environmental health research studies under the direction of the principal investigator based on research objectives. Assist the principal investigator in developing, designing, and implementing research plans with field- and laboratory-based research. Assist the principal investigator in community-engaged environmental health research activities; conduct environmental and human exposure sample and data collection; conduct and/or coordinate sample analysis; administer questionnaires and other items for the collection of human subjects’ data; manage data, conduct data analysis, and compile results.  Participate in preparation of all oral and written communication including articles for grant proposals, conference presentations, reports to sponsors, and publications. May oversee undergraduate students or service staff concerning research on a day-to-day basis.

 

 

Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Chemical analysis skills; basic quantitative data analysis skills; competency with Microsoft Office software; interpersonal skills; writing and verbal communication; experience with data management (preferred but not required); English fluency required; driving a passenger vehicle.

 

 

Preferred:

  • Experience is not required, but 6 months or more research experience involving human subjects, environmental sampling, or analysis of environmental samples is preferred
  • preferred but not required that degree is in chemistry, environmental health, biomedical health sciences, epidemiology, public health, or closely related field.
