  • JOB DUTIES

Description

As a Research Assistant of the Prostate SPORE Pathology Core Center, your primary duties include: • Track and maintain database of patients samples including clinicopathologic annotations from Beaker, BTM, Biobank evaluation forms and/or slides for procured tissue specimens • Perform frozen tissue processing, including OCT embedding and cryo-sectioning • Perform simple slides preparation and cutting FFPE sections • Perform defined target tissue dissection and cell isolation as needed from unstained slides, OCT-embedded and/or FFPE blocks • Perform DNA and RNA extraction, purification and quantification from both fresh frozen and FFPE samples • Laboratory maintenance, including Lab safety documentation • Perform literature research Salary Range: $24.88 – $29.67/hour Note: -May convert to career -Position is part-time and anticipated to work 20 hours per bi-weekly period (2 weeks)



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

• Basic science bench experience • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety • Ability to operate various office equipment, ability to setup and maintain filing system and office supplies • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, LabView and Adope Photoshop • Excellent skill in verbal and written communication
