Research Assistant Professors‚ Peripheral Neuropathy or Neurodegeneration and Neuroprotection Research #NEU053

The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for two Research Assistant Professors. The primary activity will be academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The appointees will develop their own research as well as contribute to research projects in the areas of neuronal maintenance and neuroprotection for peripheral and central neurodegeneration. We especially welcome applicants with expertise in Drosophila or human iPSCs models of neurodegenerative diseases. The Department has many opportunities for research in peripheral neuropathic pain, rare and common neurological disorders, and cerebrovascular disease. Publication record and ability to obtain extramural grants will be considered.
 
Applicants must 1) have a doctoral degree or equivalent in Biological or Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines, and 2) have completed postdoctoral training prior to the start of employment.
