The University of Alaska Fairbanks offers an exciting venue to study the evolution of weeds, and challenges of weed management in a changing climate. Come work with a well established foundational crew of integrated pest management researchers and practitioners working on pesticide persistence, management of weeds in production agriculture, and wildland weed issues relevant to northern latitudes.

A successful applicant has excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in listening and interpreting the weed management needs of small grain producers. You will communicate research findings to technical and general audiences with a focus on how to practically apply findings in field production. You must have the technical skills to address emerging issues such as herbicide tolerance and resistance with the most up to date methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Crop/Plant/Weed Science, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field; a track record of demonstrated research excellence; the ability to develop research collaborations with private and public sector organizations.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a full-time, exempt 9- month faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
