Position Description
Advertised Job Summary | The College of Engineering and Computing seeks to fill the position of Research Assistant Professor. The primary purpose of this position is to assist Dr. Paul Ziehl, Associate Dean for Research and Director of the McNair Center, in completing the objectives of ongoing composite related research programs. These tasks include project management, design of experimental test setups, composite structural design, data acquisition/processing, and design. |

Required Education and Experience | Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, or any related field. Three (3) or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience preferred. U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and foreign nationals eligible for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) licensure are eligible to apply and must comply with ITAR and CUI project requirements. |

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques of composite part manufacturing. Knowledge of composite and elastomer failure modes. Knowledge of composite and elastomer test program design. Experience with the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes. |
