Position Summary
The UNC-CH Department of Pharmacology invites applications for a fixed term, Research Assistant Professor. The department seeks a basic/translational research scientist with interest in the RAS oncogene and pancreatic cancer etiology and therapeutics. This person will apply chemical and CRISPR-Cas9 based genetic high-throughput screens to identify cancer resistance mechanisms and to develop combination chemotherapy strategies. Finally, this person will utilize state-of-the-art preclinical cancer models, including patient-derived organoids and mouse models, to evaluate cancer therapeutics.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or another life or biological sciences discipline.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A minimum of three year of postdoctoral research experience is preferred. Expertise in signal transduction and cellular/molecular biology, computational biology and experience with training and mentoring personnel is a plus.
