Position Summary
The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for a Research Assistant Professor to work with the MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Study; a collaborative, multi-center, longitudinal study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, designed to comprehensively investigate the natural history and progression of HIV infection in men and women in the United States. This faculty member will be expected to conduct original research to evaluate the relationship between disease outcomes and individual- and neighborhood-level characteristics among people with or at risk for HIV. A central focus of this research will be the development and refinement of quantitative methods to more accurately estimate the population impact of interventions to reduce health inequities. Duties include, but are not limited to, carrying out independent work, making presentations regarding his/her research, publishing research results in peer-reviewed journals, participating in grant proposal preparation, and interacting with faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Qualified candidate must have a PhD in Epidemiology or similar discipline.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience and expertise with advanced epidemiological/statistical methods, excellent writing and other communication skills, research productivity as evidenced by scientific publications, and a strong interest in HIV research. Candidates with strong methodological background will be preferred.
