Position Summary

The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy ( is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, and Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry promotes human health through innovative basic research and contemporary education. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is currently undergoing aggressive growth and transformation.

The Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is seeking to fill a 12-month research-track position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will have research interest in the area of glycobiology. The successful candidate is expected to carry our NIH-funded research projects independently and has the potential to attract NIH grants.

Educational Requirements

Ph.D. degree in Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in carbohydrate research and molecular biology is required.

The candidate must have a strong track record of publications that demonstrates creativity in carbohydrate and molecular biology.
