Position Summary
The School of Public Health (SPH) at the University of Memphis (UofM) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Non-Tenure Track Research Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of Fall 2023 or Spring 2024. This is a 12-month position with a primary focus on seeking extramural funding and conducting population-based research that integrates clinical and social determinants of health to enhance population health outcomes. The annual renewal of this position is subject to funding availability and performance evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Write and submit research grants in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team of researchers in the SPH.
· Actively manage assigned projects, including supervising research staff, monitoring budgets, coordinating administrative reports, and meeting grant requirements.
· Prepare and publish collaborative manuscripts to support the SPH research and grant portfolio.
· Apply knowledge and experience in research design, intervention development, and analytic methods to program development.
· Teach one to two public health courses each semester as per the SPH needs, and
· Advise and mentor post-doc, doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students.
Minimum Position Qualifications
Candidates for this position must hold a doctoral degree in Public Health or related discipline and meet academic requirements for consideration as a faculty member. A minimum of three years of professional experience is required.
