Research Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology - PHRC

The Department of Otolaryngology and the Pittsburgh Hearing Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant Professor appointment-stream position in auditory neuroscience. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, Assistant Professor requires 1-5 years of experience.

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D in Neuroscience, Physiology, Molecular/Cell Biology, Cognitive and Neural Systems, Computational Science, Communications Science, Bioengineering, or other similar Biological/Biomedical or Health Science related field, MD or clinical doctorate degree and have peer-reviewed publications in synaptic physiology. Candidates with expertise in patch-clamp whole-cell recordings in brain slices, stereotactic microinjection (AAV delivery and drug infusion), stereotactic surgeries (electrode and opto-fiber implantation to rodent brain), pharmacology, and animal handling are especially encouraged to apply.

This community is strengthened by NIH-supported training grants and certificate graduate programs (https://hearingandvision.pitt.edu/ ) promoting graduate and post-doctoral training in hearing research.
