The Department of Neurosurgery is a top department for both research and clinical practice. It is focused on growth, including in the areas of cognitive neuroscience, psychiatric neurosurgery, and neuromodulation.


Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery is currently seeking a Research Assistant Professor to perform basic research using data collected from patients and human participants, and to help other researchers in the department in their analyses of existing and new data.


Job Duties
  • Setting: this position will be associated with a standard laboratory environment.
  • Supervisor: Benjamin Y. Hayden, Department of Neurosurgery.
  • Clinical responsibilities: none
  • Teaching responsibilities: none
  • Research responsibilities: full-time; this includes development of papers, attending conferences, working with colleagues, etc.
  • Supervisory responsibilities: Position will involve mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.
  • Specific functions: statistical teaching
  • Project goals: two empirical or review papers submitted over the summer.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education required: Ph.D. and three years of post-doctoral research experience
  • Certifications/Registrations/Licensure required for the position: None
  • Previous experience: post-doctoral training in neuroscience and/or psychology
  • Other desired qualifications: help with grant-writing, help with design and maintenance of laboratory computational infrastructure
