Job Summary:
The Department of Pharmacology and the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invite applications for a fixed term faculty position to direct the computational biology efforts within a cancer biology lab. The successful candidate must have a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, a well-defined research vision, and will be expected to direct a lab that performs translational cancer research as well as seeks to understand the oncogenic or tumor suppressive function of cancer relevant genes. The successful candidate is expected to develop their own research program that complements the cancer biology and disease expertise of the PI and current lab members. They are also expected to successfully compete for external, peer reviewed funding as well as supervise graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. UNC Chapel Hill is ranked eighth in the US based on federal research funding and is a US News and World Report top 25 medical school. Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have prior experience with computational biology / bioinformatics as well as cancer genomics. R coding at an intermediate to advanced level is a requirement. Fluency with processing and analysis of RNAseq and ChIPseq data is a requirement.Applicants should have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree.
