The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Houston invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in the Geosensing Systems Engineering (GSE) program. Candidates with multi-disciplinary interests are invited to apply at the Research Assistant Professor rank.

The CEE department currently has 20 tenured or tenure-track faculty members with over 260 undergraduates, and over 130 graduate students. Qualifications

: 

Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geomatics Engineering, or equivalent field of study obtained prior to hire date, and must have at least two years of post-graduate experience, either as a post-doctoral scholar, research associate or in industry.  We are seeking a scholar who excels in the application of high-resolution geophysical and geodetic observations including GNSS, gravimetry, and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to elucidate fundamental processes in the Earth Sciences and are particularly interested in scholars using these observations for natural and anthropogenic hazard studies. Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to self-motivate or work as an effective team member; experience managing a team is desired; good disposition and adaptability towards extended domestic travel.
