The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Houston invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) opening in the area of redox-active organic materials for all-solid-state batteries. This research is conducted by highly dynamic team members with diverse backgrounds. The candidates are expected to assume a leadership position in several aspects of this research effort. Thus, prior experience in the supervision of masters, Ph.D. and/or Post-Doctoral level team members, and excellent oral and written communication skills, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and presentations are required.
This appointment is for 12 months and may be renewable dependent on funding for the position. The position’s start date is April 1, 2024. Continued employment and the possibility of reappointment are contingent upon the availability of funding, annual review, and continued need for the position within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Qualifications

: 

Ph.D. or equivalent is required.

The candidate is expected to have a strong experimental background in electrochemistry, organic electrode materials, and spectroscopy, with a strong background in organic materials synthesis and experience in all-solid-state alkali metal batteries (e.g., Li, Na).
