The University of Houston (UH) College of Pharmacy invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time, research-track faculty position at the rank of research assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research. We are seeking outstanding individuals with a track interest in scholarship and expertise in the field of ambulatory care and clinical-translational research. The successful candidate will be involved in increasing scholarship productivity within the department, increasing the national recognition of the college, and building a clinical research enterprise focused on healthcare in the ambulatory setting.
The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research is made up of 34 full-time faculty members. The vision of the department is to be a leader in pharmacy and postgraduate education through excellence in translational, clinical and outcomes research. The department has a strong group of faculty that conduct high-level clinical and translational research. This will be a key position to expand our research infrastructure and increase our research visibility around the nation. The ideal candidate will synergize with our department expertise in metabolic disorders, health-systems pharmacy, infectious disease, pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics, or microbiome-related diseases. The practice site will be in collaboration with the UH College of Medicine.
The position is fully funded by the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to scholarship, the applicant will teach in the didactic and skills portion of the curriculum related to ambulatory care and will be expected to take P4 students on clinical or research rotations. Applicants will be expected to develop a nationally recognized reputation in their chosen area of expertise through teaching, service, and scholarship.

Qualifications

: 

The candidates should possess a PharmD degree along with either residency/fellowship training or an advanced research degree.
Prior experience directing students on clinical research projects would be an asset.
Applicants must be eligible for Texas licensure.
