The Northwest Center for Public Health Practice (NWCPHP) promotes excellence in public health by linking academia and the practice community. As part of the University of Washington School of Public Health, NWCPHP provides training, research, and evaluation for state, local, and tribal public health in six Pacific Northwest states:  Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.

The Research Assistant will work on activities under the CDC grant “Evaluation of the Youth-centered Environmental Shift (YES!) Program.” This grant involves the development and implementation of an evaluation process to assess the feasibility and acceptability of the YES! pilot program in Washington State. YES! is a newly designed program to prevent sexual violence among middle school students by creating a supportive school climate. This grant is a collaboration between NWCPHP, the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center, and the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction with Betty Bekemeier as PI.  Dr. Bekemeier will provide oversight to the work of this position on the grant, with day-to-day supervision provided by Megan Rogers, Evaluation Manager at NWCPHP.

When time and workload allow, this will also provide support to the Evaluation Team as needed during surge times to support other specific grant deliverables for NWCPHP.  Examples may include implementing pilot-testing of training modules, editing reports, PowerPoint slides, etc.
