Department of Art History
The University of North Texas (UNT)‘s Department of Art History is dedicated to fostering the success of its diverse population of faculty and students. It offers a BA and MA in Art History as well as an accelerated BA/MA degree option. The department’s commitment to diverse areas of inquiry is reflected in faculty research and a curriculum that provides students with a broad understanding of the historical roots and contemporary issues of the visual arts material, culture, and design.
Position Summary
Will be assisting in the acquisition of 140 images and permissions for a forthcoming monograph “The Great Southwest: Trade, Territory, and Regional Architecture.” The assistant will manage the process, communicate with museums, historical societies, and archives, and organize the naming and storage of files. It is a great opportunity to learn about the publishing process in art/architectural history.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
-familiarity with art historical research methods and the Chicago Style citation system
-excellent attention to detail
-excellent organization and communication skills
-knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
-experience managing information for a large project.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree in art history (or a closely related major). 
Preferred Qualifications
Completed MA in Art History.
