In addition, they are using their expertise in interdisciplinary research centers across the university.
Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Research Assistant to join the Taylor lab. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support by creating models of peptide nucleic acid (PNA) and DNA nanostructures to explore novel motifs for PNA and DNA assemblies and such other tasks that are assigned to you.
Taylor’s research is focused in three primary domains: (1) DNA nanotechnology for molecular and cellular mechanobiology, (2) bio-inspired micro- and nanosystems and (3) advanced manufacturing.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Utilizing recently developed OnShape-based molecular visualization tool to construct novel motifs.
Creating models of a range of molecular assemblies to illustrate the capability of the OnShape-based tool.
Preparing manuscripts for an educational paper describing the use of this tool.
Creating Github site with documentation and example OnShape part studio files.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum level of prior work experience required
Experience working with OnShape for semi-automated molecular modeling
