Position Description:
Research Assistant III - Oral sensory neuron function and connectivity
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our dynamic research team at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to a cutting-edge project to examine morphology, function, plasticity, and connectivity in genetically defined oral sensory neurons (both taste and somatosensory). To accomplish this goal, we utilize a combination of genetic, anatomical, and functional approaches in mice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in Biology or Neuroscience or a related science field.
- Two years of laboratory research and animal handling experience.
- Some computer programing skills.
- Some microscopy and confocal experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
