Position Description:

Job Summary

The Center for Predictive Medicine seeks a Research Technologist III to support the principal investigator in a laboratory conducting research on drug discovery and basic scientific studies for viral diseases.  The main responsibilities will be to participate in the design, execution, and analysis of laboratory research studies and develop protocols and procedures.  The position requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and time management skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct mouse experiments for testing toxicity and antiviral efficacy of compounds
  • Conduct various cell biology and serology experiments including PCR, real-time PCR, RNA isolation, and primary cell cultures
  • Participate in new experimental procedures and designs
  • Prepare materials and equipment necessary for laboratory experiments
  • Perform data entry and analysis
  • Participate in the planning and development of general goals for the research project
  • May instruct lab personnel in special experimental procedures
  • Support sample collection and processing
  • Provide oversight of lab equipment
  • Manage lab supplies
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling infectious agents and mouse experiments
  • Effective use of productive software (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.)
  • Experience in aseptic techniques and biological experiments

Target Compensation Maximum:

$27.85

Target Compensation Minimum:

$18.56

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
