Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm


Job Summary: The Research Assistant III assists with research work in support of a major research project under minimal supervision. Orders equipment and supplies. Sets up equipment. Performs experiments. Monitors results. Collects data. Prepares support material. May supervise students or other support workers assigned to the research project.


Additional Department Summary: Assists with the the day-to-day activities of the Project PROMISE grant. Communicates regularly with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders. Prepares correspondence. Maintain records. Creates and maintains charts, graphs, tables, spreadsheets, and databases. Schedules calendar and meetings as requested on behalf of the Project Director. Coordinates events with faculty, staff, students, employers, and other stakeholders. Manages grant funds and keeps records of grant expenditures.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with stakeholders. Effective communication and writing skills. Basic computer skills such as word processing, email, keyboard and other typical office equipment, including a telephone.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grant writing, management, and reporting requirements.
