Associate's degree in a related field and one or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade 2 (Hourly)
Position Description:
This is a full-time Research Assistant II position in Dr. Josiah Hardesty's laboratory at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Current projects explore mechanisms of compromised liver regeneration in liver disease using animal models and in vitro systems.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain mouse colony and perform animal studies in a team environment.
- Prepare buffers and reagents and follow protocols with limited supervision.
- Compile data and organize data using MS Excel and GraphPad Prism.
- Expected to perform basic laboratory techniques (e.g., weighing chemicals, pipetting, qPCR, western blot, histology).
- Receive, store, and organize lab supplies and reagents.
- Follow lab safety guidelines and maintain an organized workspace.
- Maintaining lab training certifications.
- Excellent record keeping via notebook and digital files.
- Carry out a defined experiment with limited supervision.
