Position Description:

Job Summary

The Center for Predictive Medicine seeks a Research Assistant II to support the principal investigator in a laboratory conducting research on drug discovery and basic scientific studies for viral diseases.  The main responsibilities will be to participate in the design, execution, and analysis of laboratory research studies and develop protocols and procedures.  The position requires strong computer skills, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and time management skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and equipment necessary for laboratory experiments
  • Support other members in the lab for experiments as needed
  • Manage lab resources including compounds library, lab equipment, and lab supplies
  • Perform data entry and analysis
  • Maintain laboratory compliance regulations on biosafety and hazardous chemicals
  • Support sample collection and processing and maintain organization of assigned laboratory space
  • Develop standard operating procedures
  • Perform data entry and analysis, practice good record keeping with attention to detail
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications

Experience handling infectious agents, experience in cell cultures, and general understanding and skill of computer coding are preferred qualifications.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$24.77

Target Compensation Minimum:

$16.51

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
