Minimum Requirements:

Research Assistant II - Associate's degree and three or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Grade 2 (Hourly)

Research Assistant III - Bachelor's degree in a related field and one or more years of research experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Grade 3

Position Description:

We are looking for a level II or III Research Assistant to participate in studies of the pathogenesis and treatment of inflammation and injuries in the eye. A BS or MS in biology and lab research experience is required. Previous experience in research utilizing animal (rodent) models is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs experiments such as cell culture and exosomes preparation, immunization and collection of tissues and blood samples from animals as well as performance of surgical procedures and administration of drugs to animal models of eye diseases.
  • Prepare solutions/media for various experiments and performs various assays such as ELISA, RT-PCR, immunohistology, western blot, ELISA.
  • Record and maintain research data, maintain work space and calibrate/operate laboratory instruments, collect and prepare material for faculty and staff research reports.
  • Other related duties/projects as assigned.
1 position available. Position will be filled at the Research II or Research III level based on Candidate Qualifications.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
