Summary of Job Duties:
Our laboratory is interested in experimental and translational transplantation in general and pediatric partial heart transplantation in particular. The Research Assistant will design, conduct, and analyze experiments, and prepare manuscripts for publication. This position will also interact daily with the clinically active members of the laboratory. The ideal candidate aims to publish in high-impact scientific journals and desires to obtain grant funding to support their career progression to independent faculty.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine, or related field plus three (3) years of research experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Recent laboratory and animal experience
Applicant must have experience in surgery or a laboratory setting.
Must have demonstrated the ability to carry out experiments in a laboratory setting.
Must know about transplantation.
Be willing to perform animal studies.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Participates in experimental animal surgery, post-operative care, and analysis.
Organizes and maintains the lab.
Writes publications and protocols.
