Duties & Responsibilities

The Nock Lab in the Department of Psychology has a position open for a full-time research assistant (RA). The candidate will report directly to a Professor of Psychology. The RA’s responsibilities include:coordinating with team members on fast-paced research projects, overseeing the organization of research- and grant-related files and data, keeping track of correspondence vital to ongoing work in the lab, maintaining schedules, arranging meetings, sending out letters of recommendation, and coordinating travel reimbursements. If the candidate is interested there are also additional opportunities to participate in other aspects of individual research projects going on in the lab. The candidate will perform related duties as requested and will also serve as liaison to departmental administration as well as the Psychology Business Office. The candidate will have the opportunity to assist with research-related administrative tasks, including: hiring and supervising undergraduate research assistants, coordinating testing spaces and study schedules, and related duties as requested.


Basic Qualifications

At least one year of related experience is required. Knowledge of computer applications including Excel, Word, and online research tools and search databases is essential. This position requires an understanding of web-based programming and website upkeep. Prior experience with administrative work.


Additional Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and will embrace the challenges of a demanding workload involving multiple responsibilities. Must demonstrate an ability to pay close attention to detail and should possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must also be confident working both independently as well as with others in a fast-paced research environment.
