Summary

This position for a Research Assistant I is intended to fulfill our need for an experienced research to execute pre-IND enabling studies using adoptive cell based therapies for the treatment of cancer. The candidate for this position should have experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture and genomic analyses. Furthermore, the candidate for this position should understand the regulatory landscape involved in meeting FDA requirements for the development of cell based therapeutics.

 

The  candidate is expected to assist other research scientists in our laboratory group perform and analyze cell and tumor materials. Cell culture based experiments and the handling of animal tissues will be required. Specifically, this candidate will be involved in translational research focused on gaining FDA approval of cell-based therapies. Additionally, pre-IND enabling research and development activities related to small molecule compound development are a responsibility for this position.

 

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who can both work independently and as a team member within a large research laboratory setting. It is expected that this candidate will be able to write detailed reports and other complex reporting requirements associated with FDA approval of therapies for use in first-in-human clinical trials.

 

The candidate chosen to fill this position  will work with postdocs and senior Faculty members to perform all experiments to achieve the goal of this project.  They will oversee this research project and relay their findings  to Dr. Lonard as the principal PI. The results of  the research  and their findings  will result in additional funding and findings of the needed research in the area of understanding cancer. 


Job Duties
  • Designs and conducts research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
  • Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
  • May assign activities to less experienced research staff.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
