Summary

The Lagor laboratory is seeking to hire a Research Assistant. The laboratory works on lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, as well as the development of novel somatic genome editing approaches. This particular position will support the genome editing testing center, an NIH funded service to evaluate the efficiency of genome editing reagents and delivery systems in mouse models.


Job Duties
  • Responsible for production and purification of Adeno-Associated Viral vectors on a weekly basis. 
  • Assist in performing gene editing experiments using mouse models.  
  • Shipping and receiving packages.
  • Keeping inventory of supplies.
  • Ordering reagents through the purchasing system.
  • Maintaining equipment and keeping purchasing records.
     

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters in biology, chemistry, or a related discipline. Alternatively 1-2 years of relevant research lab work experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular biology- including PCR, cloning, western blotting and cell culture.
  • Must be comfortable working with mouse models, with prior experience preferred.
  • The candidate must have excellent critical thinking skills, organization, and attention to detail. 
  • Experience working with mouse models is desired.
