Job Summary

This research will include working in Drexel Nanomaterials Institute (DNI) / MSE Labs. The visiting researcher will assist a team of postdocs and PhD students in the fabrication and characterization of new nanomaterials for energy storage applications. The visiting researcher will be trained on how to successfully complete the tasks at hand. They will work in the laboratory or on related tasks in the pursuit of synthesizing nanomaterials. The candidate is expected to acquire a deeper understanding of the field of materials science research as it relates to nanomaterials and energy storage, as well as a deeper understanding of the scientific process in general.

Essential Functions

  • Conducting experiments (such as mixing elemental powder, reactive sintering, milling, etching carbides in order to fabricate two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials).
  • Analyzing results.
  • Participating in other laboratory-related efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required..
  • 1 or more years of experience is required.
  • Candidates must have some lab experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  The candidate should be a self-starter, able to work independently, and able to participate creatively in refining program directions.

Additional Information

This is a part-time Temporary position classified as Non-Exempt.  The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
