POSITION PURPOSE:

The Community Health Worker Academy operated in the Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies at Wayne State University is searching for a Research Assistant to assist with designing and conducting research in its Community Health Worker Training Program funded by the U.S. Bureau of Workforce Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Collaborate with the principal and co-investigators on research design and on-going modifications.

Recruit research participants and organizations for intervention implementation.

Collect data through surveys, interviews, focus groups, document retrieval, and field observations.

Develop intervention protocols in the Community Health Worker Academy’s Education Catalog for research participants.

Design and manage the research data management systems and operations.

Conduct data analysis.

Draft research reports and presentations.

Produce evaluation reports for research funding agencies.

Manage research equipment.

Attend in-person research team meetings on campus and virtual meetings as required.

Other research duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree in Public/Community Health or related discipline.

Minimum of one year of research experience in a public/community health-related intervention program.

Experience working with the Canvas, Canvas Catalog, and Qualtrics research management platforms.

Experience with research design, survey development, data collection and management, data analysis, and research/evaluation publication/presentation/report generation.

Excellent communication skills and professionalism.

Ability to work productively and effectively both as a member of an inter-disciplinary team and independently.
