Job Overview

May 2024: Looking for research experience before applying to graduate school or medical school? Join our team to work on NIH-funded behavioral research studies concerning lung cancer screening and smoking cessation interventions among people at high risk for lung cancer. This is a hybrid position (involving both remote and in-person work) and is located in Washington, DC.

We are recruiting to hire a full-time, paid Research Assistant with a competitive benefits package to start in May/June 2024. Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinating two clinical trials, including scheduling and tracking participants; and conducting phone-based participant assessments following an IRB-approved protocol
  • Conducting data entry/management/analysis activities
  • Training and supervising undergraduate students and delegating lab responsibilities
  • Assisting with study administrative tasks (e.g., materials mailings, incentive tracking)
  • Coordinating with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to maintain research compliance

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (by time of start date) in psychology, public health, or another social science
  • An interest in/experience with clinical (human subjects) or behavioral science research
  • A commitment of one to two years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced coursework in social/behavioral science
  • Completed CITI Human Subjects training
  • Experience in working with IRBs
  • Experience using data processing and statistical software - e.g. , REDCap, Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SAS, and R
  • Experience working in clinical settings / clinical research labs
