The Research Assistant the Biology Department in the College of Science & Technology is responsible for the daily operation of research on plant reproduction and population demography. Maintains experimental greenhouse and field studies, performs lab work including microscopy, manages care of experimental plants, and supports laboratory research activity.  Assists with project planning, design, and scheduling, Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a grant funded position.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and six months of related research experience. Demonstrated experience field research. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment, including microscopes and balances.
*Ability to work long days in the field, including intense heat in the summer.
*Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. 
*Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff. 
*Ability to maintain and organize records and inventories. 
*Strong attention to detail. 
*Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.  
*Ability to travel daily up to two (2) hours away from Temple University.
