Research Assistant - Biological Sciences

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant - Biological Sciences at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Organizing and leading field work.

Sample processing.

Ordering lab materials and organizing protocols.

Analyzing data.

Assisting in mentorship of undergraduates.

Statistically analyze data, draft manuscripts, present research at scientific conferences. 


Qualifications:

PhD in Environmental Sciences, Biology or related fields conferred by the start of employment.

Experience conducting field and lab work collecting and processing samples.

Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a large interdisciplinary group of researchers.

Demonstrated professional record of research achievement.
