Responsibilities*
  • Direct the breast cancer dormancy sub-focus of the Wicha laboratory.
  • Perform independent analysis of literature relevant to breast cancer dormancy, breast cancer stem cells, and the role of the immune system in metastasis and tumor progression.
  • Design, develop, and execute experimentation surrounding breast cancer dormancy and the role of the immune system, in particular NK cells in maintaining breast cancer dormancy.
  • Perform bioinformatic analysis of bulk RNAseq data, single cell RNAseq data, and spatial transcriptomics and proteomics data.
  • Develop reproducible analytic pipelines for data analysis.
  • Train others in methods and equipment operation for techniques crucial to breast cancer dormancy research.
  • Build open source pipetting robot to increase reproducibility and efficiency of laboratory experiments.
  • Writing P01 program project 2 for breast cancer dormancy P01.
  • Writing, editing, and resubmitting manuscript focused on the role of Natural Killer cells in breast cancer dormancy.
  • Coordinate with other members of P01 team to share data, findings, and information related to the breast cancer dormancy sub-focus of the Wicha lab.

Required Qualifications*
  • BS in Biomedical Engineering. 
  • 12 years of research laboratory experience. 
  • 5 years of experience leading the breast cancer dormancy sub-focus program or similar 

Desired Qualifications*
  • MS, or PhD in Biomedical Engineering. 

Additional Information

This is a term limited position to end 8/31/2024. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits.  This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.


Background Screening
