Research and Evaluation Specialist

This position is at the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, developmental, social, and educational sciences.
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with a longitudinal research study examining how family socioeconomic circumstances relate to differences in adolescent cardiovascular health. The study consists of a virtual health assessment with adolescent-parent dyads followed by a 7-day remote monitoring period for the collection of objective measures of health behaviors. Data collection will be primarily virtual. Job duties include contacting past participants for longitudinal study participation, scheduling study visits, administering physiological assessments, conducting health interviews, retaining accurate records and files, managing databases, building and maintaining rapport and communication with participating families.
Baccalaureate degree required in psychology or related field; at least 1 year research experience in developmental or biological-health psychology; at least 1 year of experience working with adolescent children ages 16-19 years-old required; must be fluent in Spanish and English with native Spanish speakers preferred. Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet search); attention to detail and ability to multi-task are required.

Job Summary
Coordinates research and evaluation activities related to family engagement and child welfare and supports the design, development, and coordination of data collection in research and evaluation activities Ensures accuracy and timelines of data collection procedures, conducts quality assurance processes, evaluates and summarizes findings and crafts conclusion reports. Recommends effective revisions of research procedures and ensures adherence to rules, policies, and regulations.
Essential Functions
The position will interview and conduct health assessments with parent and adolescent participants virtually, face-to-face over Zoom.
The position requires fluency in Spanish and English, with strong preference for a native Spanish speaker.
Physical Effort
Position is predominately sedentary, and requires the incumbent to sit for prolonged periods of time. Extensive computer use.
