Job Description:
Provide cell sorting services, help to design experimental approaches utilizing flow cytometry based cell sorting technique and integration with other analytical platforms.
Provide assistance with project specific discovery workflow using flow cytometry as a primary technique (from sample preparation do data analysis).
Participates in scientific discussions and brainstorming regarding experimental design, and new technological development and innovation around various research themes using single cell resolution techniques.
Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or field of study related to the research of the laboratory.
Experience:
Experience working in a research laboratory or core facility.
Experience with flow cytometry techniques.
Experience with flow cytometry based cell sorting techniques strongly preferred.
Preferred Competencies

Strong computer and record keeping skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies.
Ability to work both independently (with minimal guidance) and as a team member.

Working Conditions
May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance (working with biological samples and low power laser equipped instruments).
Working at a desk in front of computer monitor for extended time.
