Duke University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has an immediate opening for a Research Analyst I.

Occupational Summary

Aunique opportunity to partner with an aca demic orthopaedic surgeon to plan,organize and conduct cutting-edge tran slational research designed to improvebone healing in traumatically inju red patients. Through in vivo and in vitro investi gation, the research partnerwill perform a variety of complex and indepe ndent activities with the goal tomake meaningful contributions to scient ific discovery and innovation. Thisexcitingposition will foster opportu nities for professional growth andpersonal enrichment as a lead role wit hin a team of students, researchers, andclinicians. 

Work Performed

Design, execute,and document in vitro an d in vivo experiments focused onunderstanding and improving bon e healing with an emphasis on clinical relevance

Esta blish and maintainprotocols consistent with best practices for basic and translational research

Collect,evaluate, and interpr etdata and prepare oral presentations or written reports detailingprogr ess, adverse trends and appropriate conclusions.

Confer with the principalinvestigator to take a lead role in the preparatio n of manuscripts andproposals related to the scope of the lab.

Supervise thework of team members engaged in experiments and data collection related to theresearch investigation

Attend routinelab meetings and events in the spirit of teamwork, collabo ration andcollegiately

Performother related duties in cidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in a field related to the specific position.


Experience

Work requires two years of experience in research/data analysis or related position. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
