The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) is seeking an experienced Research Administrator to join the CISA Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for pre-award administration, including but not limited to, assisting faculty in proposal development by providing guidance on funding announcements, sponsor requirements, developing project-specific checklists, and other proposal development tasks. This position requires a dynamic individual who will work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment creatively solving problems with a high attention to detail. You will partner with a variety of units, including but not limited to, the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects Administration (ORSPA).
This is a hybrid position with in-person team building and collaboration opportunities.
Location preference is the Polytechnic campus.

Salary Range
$70,000 - $76,000 per year; DOE
Essential Duties
- Partner and collaborate with faculty throughout the grant development process, including but not limited to, reviewing funding announcements, providing guidance on sponsor requirements, and creating project checklists to aid in task completion and adherence to internal and external deadlines.
- Draft sponsor budgets and budget justifications in collaboration with the PI; complete sponsor-required forms and review for compliance.
- Review award documents to determine restrictions and other pertinent information.
- Verify cost sharing requirements, where applicable.
- Review proposals against guidelines and submit applications to ORSPA for review, signature, and transmittal to the sponsor.
- Provide research administration guidance and instruction to new faculty and inform existing faculty of changes in departmental and/or university policies and procedures and regulatory requirements pertaining to research administration.
- Stay abreast of changing internal & external policies, procedures, and other guiding principles associated with research administration to build breadth and depth of knowledge.
- May assist with Post-Award management, including but not limited to, At-Risk requests, re-budgets, no cost extensions, account monitoring and reconciliation, expense transfers, account close out.
- Grow and develop this role within the CISA Finance infrastructure.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by CISA Finance administrators.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Five years of experience in a field appropriate to the area/unit of assignment OR Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.

- Experience in managing competing priorities and work with a sense of urgency, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of policies, procedures and requirements of applicable regulations governing management of grants, such as federal, state, foundation, and industry.
- Experience navigating complex environments with evolving priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management software or other tools to manage workload.
- Experience in preparing detailed documents, proposals, reports, and/or related materials.
- Experience in acquiring new skills and knowledge and assist others as part of a team environment.
- Experience in successfully managing a multitude of complex proposals.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships.
- Experience in customer service skills.
Working Environment
- Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties.
- Ability to work both independently or within a complex structured team.
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
