Remote Web Development Teacher Assistant (Full Time)

As a DevMountain Bootcamp Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in shaping students' educational journeys. Your key responsibilities include collaborating closely with individuals and teams, providing insightful reviews and guidance on project work. You will be the go-to source for clarifying curriculum concepts, ensuring students stay on track with their project objectives. Your proactive approach and deep understanding of the curriculum will be crucial in steering students towards success, making their learning experience both enriching and exciting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with your leader on curriculum content and instruction, using knowledge of the program and student capabilities.

  • Occasionally deliver and facilitate course content, employing creativity and strong communication skills.

  • Address student needs during in-class exercises and projects, offering additional explanations and insights during lecture discussions.

  • Utilize specialized knowledge in the program's technology stack to assist individual students with projects and assess the quality and application of principles in student projects.

  • Provide regular, critical feedback to students during reviews and critiques.

  • Motivate and inspire students through the challenges of learning new skills.

  • Work closely with instructional staff to cater to diverse student needs and learning styles.

  • Coordinate with Instructors to provide timely and meaningful feedback on student progress.

Job Skills:

  • Capable of delivering engaging, innovative lectures that make complex technology concepts accessible to beginners.

  • A proactive and discerning communicator who articulates clearly to students.

  • Proficient in advanced computer skills, including command line usage, keyboard shortcuts, installation troubleshooting, and cloud-based coding platforms.

  • Possesses industry experience, a college degree, or a coding bootcamp certificate in relevant languages and technologies, or can demonstrate proficiency through at least 3 self-taught projects if lacking formal experience.

  • Able to learn quickly, effectively handle technical uncertainties, and reassure students who are experiencing self-doubt or confusion.

Education:

  • Self-taught developer, Bootcamp graduate, or equivalent degree.

Other:

  • Fully Remote Position

  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.

  • Access information using a computer.

  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.

  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.

  • Strong mental acuity.

  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
