As a leader in academic quality and innovation, Biola is consistently ranked among the nation’s foremost Christian universities. The Office of the Registrar stewards the academic excellence of the university by upholding academic curriculum, policies and requirements; developing and supporting systems to maintain and protect student academic records; and providing excellent service to the academic community of students, faculty and staff.

Provides general student services, reception, registration. Receiving, processing, and maintaining all University student data and other academic history-related services.  Assists students with the registration process.  Assists as needed with transcript production.

  • Serves as part of the Registration Services team in the Office of the Registrar for call-in/walk-in students by answering phones, questions, emails, and Intercom chat.  Solves registration problems and directs students to appropriate office members or departments.

  • Processes student requests for verifications/certifications of enrollment, registration, add/drops, and address changes.

  • Receives, answers, and replies to incoming phone calls on the Registrar mainline. Answers registration questions at the front counter.

  • Enter active student data entry in Banner within the guidelines and policies of the Office of the Registrar and the Data Standards Committee.

  • Communicates with academic departments regarding student registration and other department-related information.

  •  Assists in maintaining the Registrar email account; provides email replies to student questions and concerns.  Checks and forwards incoming emails from the official Registrar email to appropriate office members as necessary.

  •  Assist with the coordination of Registrar-sponsored events.

  • Assists in creating, maintaining, and ordering forms, flyers, and messaging for registration events and deadlines.

  • Assists Lead Registration and Enrollment Reporting Specialist with training student workers on various office tasks.

  • Cross training for backup support within the Registration team.


  • Organizes and maintains the Registration procedure manual, updating at least once annually, or as processes change.

  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail, responding as necessary with written or verbal communication.

  • Checks all Arranged Course Forms for accuracy and processes, adds, and assesses fees

  • Late Enrollment Fee Appeals/Reversals

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Assistant Registrar for Enrollment Services.

    General: Excellent work ethic, timeliness, communication, interpersonal and relational skills. Customer service experience, with the ability to successfully serve difficult customers and resolve customer situations. Versatile, professional appearance, and works with others to create a positive and service-oriented work environment within the department and across campus. Ability and willingness to learn and positively contribute to the spiritual growth, care, and support of fellow employees. Detail-oriented, independent and self-motivated, with the ability to effectively multitask.

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree, earned or in progress, highly preferred.

    Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Accurate clerical and data processing skills; typing (min 45 wpm min); familiarity/experience with Google Apps and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word & Excel). May require lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods of time.

    Months Per Year: 12
    Hiring Range: $18.56 - 20.59 per hour
