Registration Administrator

We are seeking a Registration Administrator  who is a highly motivated individual who manages the daily operations of the JHU-EP registration and student services staff for the Engineering for Professionals (EP). This position oversees enrollment of over 6,000 students and over 17,000 course enrollments per year (and growing) at several locations, numerous corporate partnerships and online. This role oversees the certification process for degree and certificate graduation candidates; the tracking of student final grades; the maintenance of Degree Audit; assurance of confidentiality and security for all student records; managing the student data system’s registration modules.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage registration and student services team in providing outstanding service to current and interdivisional students. Oversee the hiring, training, and development of staff.
  • Work with JHU-EP program Chairs and advisors to manage the registration process, overseeing the enrollment of JHU-EP students in appropriate courses in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify courses with low enrollment for cancellation, notify students and coordinate alternate classes or refunds, update scheduling changes on website and in SIS.
  • Resolve student issues relating to course registration, tuition, course withdrawal, and identify students to be placed on probation or dismissed.
  • Maintain Degree Audit software by updating program and degree requirements on an annual basis.
  • Represent JHU-EP by serving on multiple committees throughout Johns Hopkins University.
  • Identify, document and revise standard processes within registration on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend business and technical solutions to JHU-EP management to improve operations.
  • Assist the Director in the annual WSE graduation process including the review of records and certification of all graduates.
  • Lead contact for EP on SEAM related issues.
  • Strive to continuously identify and implement better ways to serve the student and faculty population at JHU-EP by adapting to change and facilitating more efficient and effective processes. Collaborate with the administrative teams at APL the University Homewood campus, and functional teams at JHU-EP (Marketing, IT, Distance Education, and Finance) to achieve this goal.

  • In-depth knowledge and technical expertise with Student Information Systems, Degree Audit, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Internet end-user applications.

Supervisory responsibility

  • Will supervise one staff member.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • One-year related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of related experience within higher education.
  • Five years of progressively responsible enrollment and student services experience.
  • Preference is given to those with experience with graduate professional programs.

Starting Salary Range: Min $47,500 - Max $83,300 Annually ($65,000 Targeted- Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
