The Registrar oversees all functions of the Registrar's Office, with responsibility for processes that support University enrollment goals, registration, grading, graduation, and other academic services. This is a full-time, exempt-level position reporting to the Provost. 
 

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Plans and conducts course registration, scheduling and space management.
  • Maintains and updates an efficient student records system including academic records, degree audits, grades and transcripts.
  • Responsible for interpretation, explanation and application of academic policies; FERPA and other rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for the presentation and distribution of the schedule of classes and related academic materials/website.
  • Collaborates with advisors to build student academic schedules.
  • Represents the Registrar's Office at various university functions (new faculty orientations, prospective student days, new student orientations).
  • Serves on various campus committees (EPC, BAS, Field Studies, Student Services Council, and Commencement) and attend monthly Faculty and Chair/Director meetings.
  • Resolves registration and record related issues that arise with faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
  • Supervises and manages the workflow for the Registrar's Office.
  • Certifies student enrollment status and degree candidacy. 
  • Initiates reports and responds to internal and external requests for information, data and analysis.
  • Conducts research as appropriate.
  • Prepares budget requests for Registrar's Office.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, crisis response, and ad-hoc committees etc. 

  • Job Requirements:

    Requirements include:

    • A bachelor's degree is required. A master's degree is preferred. 
    • Five to seven year' progressive experience in student records and/or Registrar's office. 
    • Experience working with housing assignment software required. 
    • Significant experience in integrated information systems, preferably Datatel/Ellucian Colleague. 
    • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and improve systems and procedures, lead staff in responding to change and technological advances, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks. 
    • Experience in supervising both professional and support staff, including assuring them a supportive and professional environment.  
    • Attendance at professional conferences locally and away.
    • Some nights and weekends required (events such as orientation and project roll-outs).
    • Willingness and ability to speak one-on-one or to groups.
    • Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work with a variety of constituents, solve problems quickly and professionally, anticipate needs, and communicate proactively.
    • Competency and experience using Microsoft Office software, specifically proficient in the use of Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and PowerPoint with the ability and desire to learn additional software applications as necessary.
    • Remain in a stationary position for more than 75% of the workday; utilize computer, phone, and other technology.
    • Frequently utilizes computer for extended periods (up to 50% of the work day).
